California Fish and Game Commission meeting in Eureka 10/19 & 10/20
October 19, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
The Fish & Game Commission has given HASA 5 minutes to provide an informational overview of our Pacific halibut plight. Given that many of the commissioners are new, they are probably unaware of the unfair allocation to California, so we wanted to bring it to their attention, and potentially help our cause in the coming year. One thing that would be very helpful for our case is if folks can show up at the Commission meeting next Wednesday (10/19) at the Red Lion Hotel, 1929 4th Street in Eureka, from 10:00-11:00 am. We would like to illustrate the importance of Pacific halibut to north coast anglers, and would like to be able to ask folks to stand that are there to express the importance of this fishery to us. You won’t need to make any public comments, but just being there to illustrate the importance will be very helpful to our cause. It should only take an hour, as we’re the second item on the agenda. Please spread the word!
Day two on 10/20 starts at 8 am. Full agenda below
